We fully comprehend the legislative framework that governs Incapacity and Disability within the South African context, taking cognisance of the fact that every Employer should have their own specific disability and incapacity processes in place to encourage the workforce stricken by incapacity or disability to remain gainfully employed. This assists with skills’ retention whilst ensuring full compliance with the law. We therefore assist the Employer to manage incapacity and disability issues timeously and effectively by performing the following assessments/interventions: - .

• Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) as baseline assessments to identify the worker’s occupational abilities.
• Worksite Assessments to determine job fit.
• Offer advice on and/or assist Employer to implement reasonable accommodations.
• Focused Return to Work interventions (RTW) as part of an integrated wellness strategy approach to skills retention and sick leave management.
• Continued Case Advisory Services and Management to encourage compliance with the legislative frameworks and to ensure a safe, functional and productive work environment for workers that need assistance with re-integration to work after a sick absence because of illness or injury.
• Ergonomics Evaluations and advice to prevent and/or reduce work-related injuries that emanate from poorly designed work environments which inadvertently lead to incapacity.

We offer functional capacity evaluations to the Insurance Industry through combining a set of tests, practices and observations to ascertain the ability of the evaluated client to function in a variety of circumstances, most often employment, in an objective manner. We evaluate the individual’s capacity to perform work activities related to participation in gainful employment. The FCE process compares the individual's health status and body functions to the demands of the job and the work environment. Based on the results, we make appropriate case management recommendations to the referring firm.

In order to ascertain the nature of and the extent to which a claimant’s injury has impacted their functional status post-morbidly, we perform medico-legal assessments. We elaborate on the loss of amenities and earnings the claimant may have experienced and may still experience in the future and these are quantified. We further determine the residual functional abilities and limitations to perform tasks at home and at work and ultimately, advice is given about rehabilitation requirements including the costs that are involved. We advise on the claimant’s needs for various modalities of therapy, assistive devices, special adaptations of the home and work environment as well as the need for continuous care. In cases where specific recommendations regarding continued medical and rehabilitative care have been made; we shall also furnish the Road Accident Fund or the Plaintiff with contact details of Clinicians who will ensure continued case management for the claimant after the claim has been finalized.
