Case Advisory and Management Services
To encourage compliance with the legislative frameworks (LRA, PILIR, EEA) and to ensure a safe, functional and productive work environment for employees that need assistance with re-integration to work after a sick absence because of illness or injury.
This service offering is comprehensive and based on a needs analysis; the following interventions may be necessary:
- Functional Capacity Evaluations to ascertain employee’s occupational limitations
- Impairment assessment and review to assess the impact residual impairments may have on a worker’s ability to meet occupational demands after prolonged sick leave.
- Worker Role Interviews (WRI) - a work-related assessment tool that has been developed to identify psychosocial and environmental factors that influence the ability to return to work after sickness or injury for those employees that have been absent for prolonged periods (from 3 months up).
- Work Site Assessments to determine job fit.
- Accessibility assessments/ audits to determine if premises are accessible and conducive for employees with disabilities.
- Consultation with various stakeholders (EHWP, LR, HR, OHS, etc.) to formulate customised and focused Return to Work (RTW) Interventions (plans) as part of an integrated wellness strategy approach to skills retention and sick leave management.
- Monitoring and Evaluation of RTW interventions for each employee and preparation of close-out reports.
- Ergonomics Evaluations and advice to prevent and/or reduce work-related injuries that emanate from poorly designed work environments.
- Facilitation of consultations (on behalf of the Employer) with incapacitated employees that can no longer remain gainfully employed so that they are appropriately retired due to ill-health.
Provision of training and Sensitisation Workshops
Offer workshops that relate to managing and reducing the risk of Absenteeism, Injury and Disability in the workplace
Pre/Re-Employment Readiness Assessment
These assessments are available to ensure that prospective employees meet the minimum functional requirements for the
potential job
Periodic Incapacity Trends Report
Written to the Employer to give feedback on the progress made in respect of getting previously incapacitated employees back to gainful employment.
